Learn about New Flights, Airports and Infrastructure at LWTM Stand 475

Managua (October 29th , 2015) Representatives of the finest tour operators and hotels in Nicaragua will share good news at Stand LA475 during London World Travel Market: Improvements in infrastructure make it easier for international visitors to experience the rich nature and culture, and exciting adventure activities, in Nicaragua.

·   In 2015, new non-stop flights from Los Angeles, Dallas and Mexico City were added to the roster of non-stops already connecting North America to Nicaragua’s international airport in Managua (MGA,) including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Houston and Atlanta.

·   On November 14, 2015, Nicaragua’s Emerald Coast International Airport (ECI) will open, offering frequent short flights to and from Managua (MGA,) as well as to and from Liberia (LIR) and San Jose (SJO) Costa Rica.

·   With the opening of ECI, North American and European visitors who fly into Costa Rica, including those on British Air’s non-stop from London launching in May 2016, will have quick access to Nicaragua’s Pacific “Emerald” Coast region, home to the country’s most luxurious resorts and best surf breaks as well to Nicaragua’s third biosphere reserve Ometepe Island and to beautiful and mystic Colonial Granada among others.

·   In early 2016, improved port facilities will open in San Juan del Sur, a picturesque port on Nicaragua’s southern Pacific Coast. Between November 2015 and May 2016, 45 cruise ships will arrive at San Juan del Sur and Puerto Corinto, Nicaragua’s northern Pacific port, a growth of 21% over the previous cruise season.

·   Visitors traveling by car or bus between Nicaragua and Costa Rica can now use “Las Tablillas” border crossing, which opened in May. The new $4 million facility takes pressure off of the more western Peñas Blancas border crossing, speeding up passage between the countries at both.
